Levi’s x MOCA Street Art Jackets: Shepard Fairey, Andre, Chaz Bojorquez, CRASH, Keith Haring, KR, Neckface, Lady Pink, REVOK, and Kenny Scharf.
As part of the MOCA “Art in the Streets” tribute exhibition to the history of graffiti, the museum will be joining forces with fashion house Levi’s to produce a limited edition series of artist designed denim trucker jackets, participating artist include Shepard Fairey, Andre, Chaz Bojorquez, CRASH, Keith Haring, KR, Neckface, Lady Pink, REVOK, and Kenny Scharf. All of the partned artists are also have artworks represented in the ”Art in the Streets” exhibition. The collection serves as a retrospective within the world of street art, as the jackets will be released in chronological order from when each artist began in the field.
Each of the ten (10) involved artists will have their jackets produced in an edition of 50. All proceeds from the sale of the jackets will benefit MOCA and its community programs.
Jackets will become available as follows:
4/17: Chaz Bojorquez’s Black Trucker (Chaz started writing in 1969) & Crash’s Zap Trucker (Crash started writing in 1975) & Lady Pink’s Women’s Bohemian Trucker (Lady Pink started writing in 1979)
4/23: Kenny Scharf’s Dark Summit Trucker (Kenny started painting in 1979)
5/14: Andre’s Rigid Trucker (Andre started painting in 1985)
6/4: KR’s Black Trucker (KR started writing in 1989)
6/18: Revok’s Dark Summit Trucker (Revok started writing in 1989)
7/2: Shepard Fairey’s Dark Summit Trucker (Shepard started posting in 1989)
7/16: Neck Face’s Black Trucker (Neck Face started writing in 2000)
8/6: Keith Haring’s Rigid Trucker (Keith starting writing in 1979)
