California based artist Saber, known for his graffiti interpretations of the American flag and large scale works of the late 90, has teamed up with Shepard Fairey to create a mural on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, CA.
The massive piece pairs the artists’s different takes on the flag side by side. Like the works of the late Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol who explored the individuality that can be found in such a universally iconic symbol as the American Flag, Fairey and Saber rework the image to find a personal identification with the meanings behind the stars and stripes.

Thank You Saber for the terrific documenting of the project.
