Shepard Fairey: Fairey Creates Art for New Magazine

SHEPARD FAIREY:

For the inaugural issue of a new UK based magazine Shepard Fairey has created the cover artwork. The magazine titled Delayed Gratification has featured Shepard Fairey with his Freedom of the Press image. The first issue of the magazine will also include an interview with Shepard Fairey.

The Magazine describes themselves as the following: Delayed Gratification is a new quarterly publication from The Slow Journalism Company. Each issue distils three months of the UK’s political, cultural, scientific and sporting life into a witty magazine of record. A combination of almanac, essays and reportage, Delayed Gratification operates on the principles of Slow Journalism.

SHEPARD FAIREY ON THE MAGAZINE COLLABORATION:

“I have just been interviewed by a new ‘slow journalism’ magazine from the UK, Delayed Gratification. Being ‘last to breaking news’ sounds like an interesting concept and they are using ‘Freedom Of The Press’ on the cover. It sounds like they are trying to create something special, similar to what we were trying to do with Swindle Magazine, so good luck to them.

The first issue is out in January, but you can check out some pages here. The first 200 subscribers get a poster of the cover.”
